Hi, my name is Stella, I live and work in Genoa, Italy. From some years I have been creating sculpture of polymer clay. My work is directed to all those who love life and all things playful and magical. This site dedicated to fables, fairies, and the imagination, is a very important part of my world. I therefore welcome you and invite you to visit my pages and gallery.

 All my sculptures are modeled entirely by hand on a skeleton of iron wire, in polymer clay, without the use of molds.
The eyes are constructed in polymer clay painted by hand after cooking.
 The wings are designed and implemented in different materials, then decorated.
The hair on the sculptur es is sometimes made of mohair wool, or depending on the needs, made with different or synthetic materials.
Clothes are sewn by hand and  made of a variety of fabrics—wool, silk, cotton, etc. The shoes are simply painted and decorated or built in cloth of leather.

Rufus the Gnome
|
To achieve Rufus the Gnome, I was inspired by the beautiful illustrations by artist Jean Baptiste Monge, great interpreter of fantasy art with the design and colors. Rufus is therefore the implementation of the spirit of the artist Monge in my (modest) ability as a sculptor.
|
|
Rufus is a Gnome miner, carries a basket on his back, which contains the fruits of his labor. In his hand has the mattock with which leaning now, it helps to take the road that separates it from the large deposit of BATABON, the precious mineral that the Gnomes use to build the small bells of the fairies.
